The Story

The Plan      The Flyer

As a native Oregonian and Beaverton resident since 1995, I believe that Beaverton is one of the best places to live in the state, if not the entire country. I am proud to call Beaverton my home. The numerous records and awards the city has earned prove the City Council has a history of policy making that continues to sustain our quality of life within the community.

I would like to contribute to the tradition that has already been established. While I see the City planning and responding to our growth and economic challenges, I believe it is important for regular citizens to be involved in City government. That's why I am taking this opportunity to run for City Council.

I live in the Denney/Whitford neighborhood and commute across the city to work in the Five Oaks neighborhood. This gives me a wonderful perspective of the city. We should be proud of our accomplishments, such as the ranking as the safest city in the Oregon and 47th safest in the US , a high level of local involvement through 13 Neighborhood Association Committees , community gatherings like the Farmer's Market , Picnic in the Parks , and family friendly events such as Flicks by the Fountain and Bike Beaverton . These are events that create a wonderful city-wide social atmosphere. Beaverton is stronger when ordinary citizens, who are the heart and soul of the community, serve on the Council.

The community is, in fact, the City. I would like to work with people to help address their concerns. Sometimes an issue is the responsibility of the City to address, but sometimes community members have the power to solve problems themselves. I hope to bridge that gap so that everyone can feel empowered to work collaboratively with their neighbors and the City.

My areas of interest include being responsive to citizens' needs, strategic policies that maintain our central neighborhoods, and planning that promotes our responsibility to be good stewards of the region.

Let's work together to keep Beaverton great by electing a community voice.  Ernie Conway for Beaverton City Council.
